K. K. Wagh College of Food Technology conducts four(4) year degree course of B.Tech.(Food Technology). This course is composed of five different departments, amongst which Food Process Technology is said to be Mother Department. Out of 183 credit load, 39 credits are allotted to Food Process Technology Department. This department covers processing of all food sectors like Cereal and Millets, Baking Technology, Fruit & Vegetable, Spices and Flavour, Milk and Milk Products, Meat, Fish and Poultry, Speciality Foods, Extruded Products. Not only processing but principle behind processing methods are explained as well as proved through various practical experiments to students. This department also involved with study of quality aspects of all kinds of foods as well as certification and quality assurance of Industrially Processed Products. During practicals students learn to prepare industry finished processed products of Beverages, Extrusion, Spices, Confectionery, Cereals based Products, Fruits and Vegetables, Bakery, etc. During this practical course students are boosted to develop innovative food products and market them with maintaining quality parameters.
